About the Growth Clinic

  • Eligibility: CEOs/MDs of Queensland companies with 5 – 200 employees
  • Cost: The Queensland Government is fully subsidising this program for 200 Queensland Companies with 5 – 200 employees. The usual cost of this program is $5,000 (excl GST) for face-to-face Clinics and $2,500 (excl GST) for Virtual Clinics
  • Duration: One day
  • Locations: Brisbane, Townsville and Gold Coast, QLD

The Growth Clinic is an intimate one-day program focused on identifying what is stopping growth as well as what each CEO can do to accelerate growth.

Working with Dr Jana Matthews and/or a Growth Expert, CEOs/MDs learn what happens during growth, their roles and responsibilities as leaders, discuss the results of the pre-Clinic diagnostic tool, receive tailored advice and recommendations from the Growth Experts, and develop an Action Plan for Company Growth as well as a Leadership Development Plan.

Dr Jana Matthews and/or the Growth Experts work with the CEOs/MDs on the areas outlined in the Knowledge Framework for Growth:

  • Products and services
  • Marketing and sales
  • Dealing with externalities
  • Building the organisation
  • Financing growth
  • Managing yourself as a leader

The Growth Clinic is limited to groups of four CEOs/MDs per day so the Growth Expert can appropriately address issues specific to each company’s problems and opportunities.

Virtual Clinics

Virtual Clinics allow CEOs/MDs who are not able to attend the program in person to experience the Growth Clinic in an online learning environment. During the online Virtual Clinic, Dr Jana Matthews teaches what happens during growth, roles and responsibilities as leaders, how to set growth goals, and how to lead and manage growth.

Following the Virtual Clinic, CEOs/MDs have a one-hour call with a Growth Expert to identify what is stopping growth and develop strategies to accelerate growth.

Virtual Growth Clinics are commencing in early 2018.

“The Growth Clinic offered an intimate discussion with other executives and the Growth Experts. This enabled me to drill down into the areas that were hampering our company’s growth. The action planner included some very simple but effective tools such as matrices and diagrams of important factors you need to consider when growing your company.”

– Mitchell Flor, General Manager, Tandy Group

About the Growth Modules

  • Eligibility: CEOs/MDs who have attended a Growth Clinic plus two executives from their company
  • Cost: The Queensland Government is partially subsidising this program for 40 Queensland Companies with 5 – 200 employees. The usual cost of the program is $35,000 (excl GST). The co-contribution for each business is $11,667 (excl GST)
  • Duration: Three, three-day modules, over approximately nine months

The Growth Modules are a series of three, three-day modules that teach CEOs/MDs and their executive teams how to lead, manage and grow their companies. The modules are designed for teams of three per company because we understand the importance of teams learning together, identifying problems inhibiting growth, and working together to develop solutions and strategies for growth.

Each three-day module focuses in on different components of the Knowledge Framework for Growth that are introduced at the Growth Clinic. This content includes:

  • Products and services (designing and delivering products customers want/need)
  • Marketing and sales (selecting the right channels to reach target customers)
  • Dealing with externalities (tracking and anticipating things that impact your business over which you have no control)
  • Building the organisation (providing the leadership required to grow a company, developing a plan, building the infrastructure, choosing the right people and building a culture for growth)
  • Financing growth (selecting the right strategy to finance growth)
  • Managing yourself as a leader (how to manage yourself when the company begins to grow)

The Growth Modules provide a dynamic and interactive learning experience that includes expert presentations, facilitated group discussions, peer-to-peer learning, action planning and accountability.

The three, three-day modules are spaced three to four months apart, and the CEO/MD must commit to bringing at least two other executives to all three modules.

The course content has been designed by Dr Jana Matthews, and is delivered by a team of Growth Experts, all of whom have started, grown and exited companies, hence have a broad base of experience growing different types of companies in different industries.

“Drop any business book, existing course or business coach that you’re working with and go through this program. And if when you finish, you don’t believe it has made the biggest impact of anything else you have done, I will take responsibility for that.”
