Dan Grace

At present, Retired – I was an Executive-in-Residence for the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and on the boards of The Pensacola, FL Symphony Orchestra and The Seaside Institute.

Formal education: BA/MA Industrial Psychology from the University of Tulsa and graduate work in Behavioral & Organizational Psychology at Michigan State, Harvard, MIT, and Wharton.

Business experience: 45 years – U.S. Navy, United Air Lines, Abbott Laboratories, Clark Equipment Company, Marion Laboratories, Marion Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals & owned his own Consulting firm.

Positions included: Flight Officer, Legal & Security Officer, Executive Recruiter, Purchasing Manager, Material Handling System Design Consultant, Executive Search Consultant, Management Training & Development Manager, European Personnel Director, Vice President of Organization Development and retired as Vice President of Human Resources for Marion Merrell Dow, then was owner of a Consulting Firm for 10 years.

He has worked with organizations and managed functions in the United States, Canada, Belgium, England, Germany, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, and Argentina.

He was instrumental in the design and institutionalization of Marion Laboratories’ culture/organization (recognized as one of the 10 best places to work in the U. S. in 1986, 87 & 88) and aided in the initial development of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

Personal: He was married to Julie Grace – (Northwestern U. Nursing Education Instructor), 47 years, now widowed. and has two daughters … one an MD, OBGYN and one a Research Psychologist/Software Specialist and is splitting his free time between Pensacola, Florida (where he lives) and Atlanta, Georgia (where his daughters & Grandchildren reside).
