Australian Centre For Business Growth Assessment Clinics to be offered in Townsville in July and August

Today Smart Precinct NQ and the Australian Centre for Business Growth (AUCBG) at the University of South Australia are launching a series of business growth programs focused on developing the growth capability of companies in North Queensland to increase their revenue, profitability, and create jobs.

Local business owners, CEOs and Managing Directors will have the opportunity to develop their leadership capability by learning how their roles and responsibilities change at different stages of business growth. The programs will help participants develop a plan to tackle their company’s challenges and capitalise on growth opportunities, as well as a leadership development plan for themselves. The programs will be guided by Growth Experts who have started, grown and exited their own companies.

Smart Precinct NQ will host a limited number of the AUCBG’s Assessment Clinics, which will be subsidised for companies based in North Queensland. These Clinics will be available to local business owners, CEOs and Managing Directors and can be attended in person or in real-time via video conference. These limited number of subsidised Assessment Clinics are an initiative of Smart Precinct NQ and will be delivered in collaboration with the Australian Centre for Business Growth.

To date, more than 1200 CEOs/Managing Directors Australia-wide have attended the AUCBG’s Clinics, with 96% recommending the Clinic to other business leaders.

Smart Precinct NQ will be hosting Assessment Clinics on the following dates:

  • 19th July – In person at SPNQ
  • 20th July – In person at SPNQ
  • 16th August – Real time online, via Zoom
  • 17th August – Real time online, via Zoom

Matt Steine, Managing Director of Smart Precinct NQ noted that SPNQ is excited to bring the Australian Centre for Business Growth’s world leading programs to established businesses with ambitions for growth in North Queensland.

“We have some amazing businesses in North Queensland that have the capacity to capture national and global markets.  This programme enables us to support those businesses to reach their full potential.  We are excited to work with Australia’s leading programme for business growth.”

ANZ Chair in Business Growth and Director of the Australian Centre for Business Growth, Dr Jana Matthews added, “The Centre is delighted to be working with Smart Precinct NQ to deliver these Assessment Clinics in Townsville. Since the Centre was established in 2014, we have worked with more than 20 CEOs/MDs and executives based in Townsville, helping them address business challenges and prepare for future growth.  We’re excited to be back and look forward to working with even more North Queensland companies, helping them gain the knowledge and learn the skills required to unlock their growth potential.” Dr Matthews said.

Carl Valentine, Managing Partner of PVW Partners and former program participant said that he would highly recommend the Assessment Clinic and the Centre’s programs to other CEOs.

The Assessment Clinic provided a very clear message about the need for organisational and shareholder alignment when adopting a growth strategy, as well as the purpose, focus and discipline required to execute on it. We continue to use the frameworks, experiences and skills developed by the Australian Centre for Business Growth to grow our business.”

Applications for the Assessment Clinics are open to business owners, CEOs and MDs of North Queensland based companies with 5–199 employees. The Clinic is ideal for business owners, CEOs/MDs who want to learn how to grow, are willing to share data, information and lessons learned with other participants, and complete prep work. There are a limited number of subsidised places available.  To learn more about the Program and apply now, click here
